The Prasanthi Nilayam Picture Gallery

In the summer of 1995, I spent a long period of time living at Prasanthi Nilayam in southern India. Prasanthi Nilayam is the biggest ashram (spiritual community) in the world. People from all corners of the world come to the ashram seeking spiritual enlightenment and harmony.

Prasanthi is the home of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who is considered to be the new spiritual leader of India. During that summer, people from 137 nations gathered together in this small village to participate in the First Annual World Music Festival, and the Guru Poornima Celebration. These events were the beginning ceremonies celebrating the 70th birthday of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

All the pictures in the gallery, with the exception of "Baba smiling", "Young Baba", and "The Eternal Heritage Museum", were taken by Roger Cantu.
