I just finished reading your book, Journey to India. I was greatly
inspired to read about Durga, Goddess of the Universe who even such great
personages as Rama called upon in times of crisis. I always tend to think of
the Shakti power of the universe as the negative or material aspect of creation
projected by the Absolute Brahman at the time of manifestation. But as your
friend Bodidharma pointed out: "Durga (the Goddess who is Shakti in it
entirety) is not a poetic figure in an old tale. She is a divine presence whose
active help and limitless love are available to all those who follow her."
I was pleased to see you give in your book an outline of a very effective
meditation plan and instructions for energizing the three important chakras.
But I was even more impressed with the added bonus that Bodhidharma threw in -
the extra secrets and requirements to ensure that the sincere devotee's
practice is fruitful - techniques for invoking the Divine Shakti power. I did a
little additional reading and found most of these ideas corroborated by other
sources.
I also enjoyed reading the details of your stay at Sathya Sai Baba's
Ashram; the sites and daily routines of ashram life, the very interesting
encounters with Sai Baba, and the special dream that he gave you (a great
blessing I might add). I highly recommend this book to three classes of people:
1)those seriously interested in meditation, 2) those who want to learn about
the powerful Divine personage Durga who is waiting to help them with their
spiritual path, 3) those who are curious about Sathya Sai Baba and want to know
more about him. Thank you for your fine book and I look forward to your future
literary efforts.
Sincerely

This book kicked my ass! This is the most insightful, profound,
enlightening, and fun book I have ever read.
Thanks so much.

I've just finished reading your book Journey to India and wanted to
type my feelings immediately. This work gave me an incredible insight into
parts of the person I had already perceived you to be. There were several times
I stopped and closed it, then imagined you saying the words out loud. It gave
the book a magical quality.
It was obvious by reading this that this trip gave you a sense of
direction, a devotion, and an even deeper desire to learn than you had
experienced before it.
Throughout my reading, I found myself yearning to read your words. I know
that sounds odd so let me explain. Every time you related a story or
experience, a piece was added to the puzzle you've presented to your reader. By
adding small details about your feelings, observations, and insight, a
dimension was brought to the experience for the reader that could only have
been matched by being there. It gave the work a dimension of reality to a topic
that is so much larger to ourselves.
I really enjoyed the topic of relationships being of three levels:
instinctive, emotional, and spiritual... Such a basic lesson and yet profound
in its presentation... I stopped for a long while and meditated over that page,
analyzing my life and relationships, past, present, and future. I discovered through
that short time that this lesson deals not only with lovers, but also friends
and family... I particularly analyzed my relationships with my father and my
brother. It gave me some understanding about the past and and insight to the
future.
This is a wonderful book.
